the message from 1851

This work was created for my Design class. We were tasked to design a visually engaging publication for the first world’s fair (1951) using Owen Jones Grammar
of Ornaments and The Complete Encyclopedia of Illustration as a graphic standard.

I developed a simple message written in Baskerville Old Face and adorned with pieces from Owen Jones Grammar of Ornaments and 19th-century illustrations. This work then was turned into a poster that I believe you can still purchase
at the GDD fall fundraising events.
